Road Safety Reminder for the week of September 15 - 21, 2025

Use Your Headlights

  • Any time conditions (clouds, rain, dust, smoke, fog, etc.) prevent you from seeing other vehicles
  • In darkness and when visibility does not allow clear recognition of a person or vehicle from a distance of 500 feet
  • When the vehicle is operated from sunset to sunrise
  • When a regulatory (white) road sign is posted stating headlights must be on
  • To increase your vehicle's visibility to others while driving – even on bright days and especially when the sun is low on the horizon

Guam Construction Update for the week of September 15 - 21, 2025

Motorists are advised to drive cautiously through the construction zones, observe all posted speed limit and construction signs, and carefully heed flaggers (when present). Alternate routes and/or adjusting drive times when feasible are encouraged.

 

Islandwide Primary Roads Paving and Pavement Markings TO-4 Route 10

Construction activities will continue along Route 10, between the Route 4 intersection and Pay-less through to the Route 32 intersection, from September 15 - 20, 2025. Intermittent lane clo-sures in both directions are expected during work hours: Mon–Fri, 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; Sat, 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

 

Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays, slow down and comply with posted speed lim-its when traveling through the work zone. Please remain alert for uneven pavement surfaces and temporary steel plates and drive safely at all times.

No construction activities are scheduled for Sunday, September 21, 2025.

 

Islandwide Safety Improvements on Primary Roads (Striping and Markings) TO-2 Route 1 from Route 6 (Adelup) to Alupang Towers - Hagatna

Pavement striping and marking activities will continue along Route 1, from Route 8 to Shell Hagåtña, from September 15-19, 2025. Work hours will be from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Intermit-tent lane closures in both directions are expected during work hours. Motorists are advised to plan accordingly and proceed with caution.

No construction activities are scheduled for Saturday-Sunday, September 20-21, 2025.

 

Islandwide Highway Maintenance

The DPW HMC crew will be performing the following highway maintenance activities between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM Monday – Friday, weather permitting:

  • Bush cutting Route 1 (Marine Corps Drive) in Hagåtña
  • Bush cutting Route 14 (Chalan San Antonio) from the ITC Intersection to Archbishop Felixberto Flores Memorial Circle
  • Bush cutting and side cutting Route 4 near Turtle Cove Yoña

The DPW asks motorists to please proceed with caution and remain alert for traffic control signs and work crews.

 

Islandwide Grass Cutting Maintenance Project

The DPW contractor will be grass cutting at the following locations between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting:

  • Monday, 9/15/25: Route 6 (Asan-Maina/Piti)
  • Tuesday, 9/16/25 – Wednesday, 9/17/25: Route 3 (NCTS, Dededo)
  • Wednesday, 9/17/25 – Thursday, 9/18/25: Route 15 (Mangilao/Yigo)
  • Thursday, 9/19/25 – Friday, 9/20/25: Route 10 (Barrigada/Mangilao/Chalan Pago)

The DPW asks motorists to please proceed with caution and remain alert for traffic control signs and work crews.
