Road Safety Reminder for the week of May 25 - 31, 2026

What to Do in Case of an Accident
(The Government of Guam requires that ALL vehicles be insured)

If you have an accident, you are required to:

  • Stop and properly identify yourself to the other party. Leaving the scene of an accident where property damage has occurred is a MISDEMEANOR. If personal injury has resulted, it is a FEL-ONY to leave the scene.

  • If the property damage exceeds $100.00 or an injury has resulted, you should contact the po-lice immediately, the law gives you a 24-hour period in which to report the accident.

  • You are also required to report the accident within 10 working days from the time the police report has been completed to the Dept. of Revenue and Taxation if the damage exceeds $250.00 or someone has been injured.

Guam Construction Update for the week of May 25 - 31, 2026

Motorists are advised to drive cautiously through the construction zones, observe all posted speed limit and construction signs, and carefully heed flaggers (when present). Alternate routes and/or adjusting drive times when feasible are encouraged.

 

Islandwide Primary Roads Paving and Pavement Markings TO-4 Route 10

Construction activities will continue along Route 10 from May 25, 2026 to May 31, 2026. Contractor crews will be working at various locations along Route 10 throughout the week. Intermittent lane closures in both directions are expected during work hours:

Monday-Friday, May 25-29, 2026, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Pavement Marking and Striping at the Route 10/ Route 15 Intersection.

Saturday, May 30, 2026, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM

  • Pavement repair (Milling and paving) at the Route 10/Route 32 (University Drive) Intersec-tion.

Sunday, May 31, 2026, No Work Scheduled. Work may be performed 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM if needed

Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays and plan their travel time accordingly. Please use al-ternate routes and follow posted detour signs. Reduce speed and comply with posted limits when passing through the work zone. Remain alert for uneven pavement surfaces and temporary steel plates, and proceed with caution at all times.

 

Islandwide Safety Improvement on Primary Roads (Striping and Marking) TO-03 - Route 1, from Route 27 to AAFB

Construction activities will continue along Route 1, from May 25, 2026 to May 31, 2026. Contractor crews will be working at various locations along this area of Route 1 throughout the week and inter-mittent lane closures in both directions are expected during work hours:

  • Monday to Friday, May 25 to May 29, 2026, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, (between Route 27 and Juan Jacinto Road (Hafa Adai Market), Install pavement markings and markers)

  • Saturday, May 30, 2026, No Work Scheduled

  • Sunday, May 31, 2026, No Work Scheduled

 

Route 17 Cross Island Road Improvements – Santa Rita/Yona

Motorists are advised of intermittent lane closures in both directions along Route 17 (Cross Island Road) between Route 5 and Route 4A as Samsung E&C America continues power pole installation. Work will occur between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM Monday - Friday.
