Emergency Vehicles
Upon the approach of an authorized emergency vehicle (ambulance, police, fire equipment, civil defense, explosive ordinance, etc.) that is sounding a siren and/or displaying flashing red or blue lights, all highway users must yield the right-of-way (Motor Vehicle Code of Guam Section 3333).

The operators of all other vehicles shall yield the right-of-way and shall immediately drive to a position parallel to, and as close as possible to, the right-hand edge or curb of the highway clear of any intersection and thereupon stop and remain in such position until such authorized emergency vehicle has passed, except when otherwise directed by a police officer.

All pedestrians upon the highway shall remain in a place of safety until such authorized emergency vehicle has passed, except when otherwise directed by a police officer.

Guam Construction Update for the week of January 5 - 11, 2026
Motorists are advised to drive cautiously through the construction zones, observe all posted speed limit and construction signs, and carefully heed flaggers (when present). Alternate routes and/or adjusting drive times when feasible are encouraged.
Islandwide Primary Roads Paving and Pavement Markings TO-4 Route 10
Construction activities will continue along Route 10. Intermittent lane closures in both direc-tions are expected during work hours:

Monday–Friday, 1/5/2026 – 1/9/2026: 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday, 1/10/2026 – 1/11/2026: 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
Locations:
Contractor crews will be working at various locations along Route 10 throughout the week. Pri-mary areas between Joleen St and Payless.
Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays and plan their travel time accordingly. Please slow down and comply with posted speed limits when traveling through the work zone. Remain alert for uneven pavement surfaces and temporary steel plates, and drive safely at all times.
Route 4 Replacement of Ylig Bridge (Phase 2) – Ylig Memorial
General construction activities will continue for the Ylig Memorial Project. These activities will not affect the flow of traffic.
The contractor, Korando Corporation, will be working from 7:00 AM till 4:00 PM on weekdays only. No construction activities are scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays.
Route 4 Paving from the Tinago River Bridge to Belen Avenue
The DPW contractor is scheduled to pave Route 4 northbound from Belen Ave to As Apman Dr on Monday, 1/5/26. Work will occur between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. The DPW asks motorists to please proceed with caution and remain alert for traffic control signs and work crews.
Islandwide Grass Cutting Maintenance Project
The DPW contractor will be grass cutting at the following locations, weather permitting:

Saturday, 1/3/26: Route 16 & Route 8

Saturday, 1/3/26 – Monday, 1/5/26: Route 10

Monday, 1/5/26 – Wednesday, 1/7/26: Route 6 & Route 7

Thursday, 1/8/26 – Tuesday, 1/13/26: Route 1
Work will occur between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. The DPW asks motorists to please proceed with caution and remain alert for traffic control signs and work crews.
